ANS and M247 sign £1million Datacentre Deal

ANS Group has signed a new deal with Manchester-based M247 to support its long term growth plans.

The deal, worth in excess of £1million, will see M247 provide secure datacentre accommodation and high capacity network services to ANS.

ANS will take a biometrically-secured colocation ‘cage’ within M247’s newest Trafford Park datacentre as well as a range of high-capacity optical connectivity services to interconnect with the existing ANS Cloud backbone.

Customers of ANS demand the very highest levels of security and service availability, so M247’s recent accreditation to the stringent ISO 27001 Information Security Management standard was instrumental in securing the order.

M247 operate two of the most energy-efficient datacentres in Europe, allowing ANS to reduce the carbon-footprint of their hosted services and therefore significantly reducing the environmental impact of their client’s IT operations.

M247 and ANS have both worked together on frequent occasions in the past and have enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship that looks set to flourish with this new contract bringing these two Manchester Infrastructure specialists closer together.

M247 Managing Director David Buckle said “We’re looking forward to working with the team at ANS once again, on what promises to be a very exciting project. I’m delighted to see this deal underline M247’s position as one of Manchester’s leading data centre operators and it’s a testament to our high quality infrastructure and dedicated experienced team.”

ANS Managed Services Director Paul Shannon said, “Our decision to utilise M247’s data centre offering was necessitated by the continued growth of ANS and our commitment to giving the best service to our customers. M247 demonstrated that it was more than capable of delivering a high quality, energy efficient service with high capacity connectivity, in line with the robust solutions which we offer.”

ANS’ CEO Scott Fletcher commented, “With the changes we’re seeing in market conditions, ANS has decided to focus our capital on further building our already successful cloud platform. By partnering with established data centre specialists such as M247 rather than building our own, we will have the opportunity to focus on further developing and expanding our services and, as a result, can pass the savings we’ll achieve onto our customers.”

Phase 1 of the new Manchester data centre opened by M247 earlier this year is already a quarter full with new customer growth. M247 has significantly expanded its 24/7 technical support workforce to cope with increased demand and the company has recently moved its Midlands regional office to larger premises in Kidderminster.
