Award winning datacentre, Infrastructure and Enterprise Networking provider ANS has been awarded the NetApp “Healthcare Reseller” business capability. This award is given to NetApp partners who have demonstrated outstanding understanding within the healthcare sector, excellence in customer relationship and focus within this area.

The award comes after ANS have formed significant partnerships with leading NHS Trusts across the UK, including Guy’s and St Thomas’s NHS Trust, Leeds and York Partnership Trust, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and Dorset County Hospital.

Paul Sweeney, CEO, ANS said of the award:

“We know from statistics that we are a leading UK NetApp partner, but it is incredible to be recognised for our work within the public sector, primarily healthcare. We are experts in designing and building RAPID infrastructure utilising NetApp storage and had the opportunity to partner with some of the largest and busiest trusts in the UK, including our largest UK FlexPod deployment at Guys and St Thomas and our work with Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. To be officially recognised as an outstanding partner is a welcome validation of all of our hard work and innovation.

Our RAPID Private Cloud offering enables trusts across the UK to realise their ambition to become a truly paperless organisation making cost savings across the board with reductions in administration, printing, storage space and estate costs.  More importantly RAPID technology will enable them to deliver better patient care, our customers now have the technology in place to deliver even more innovations in medical science.”

Essentia, the non-clinical services arm of Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, appointed ANS for its datacentre transformation programme, part of a £10million investment that will see the trust realise its ambitions to deliver a reliable, highly available paperless environment.

The technology behind the transformation is Flexpod, the integrated infrastructure collaboration between Cisco, NetApp and VMware.

2015 also saw the UK’s largest NHS Foundation Trust, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals collaborate with ANS to implement its ‘Transformation through Technology’ programme as it looked to realise the ‘Paperless 2018’ targets set by NHS England. The programme involved implementing a digital health record through three major IT systems: a clinical portal, an electronic document management system and an electronic patient record.

NetApp currently have approximately 100 UK partners, ANS are one of only seven partners in the UK with this capability.  Full details of the award can be found via the NetApp partner directory.
