Manchester-based, Cloud Services Provider, ANS Group has been awarded the Cyber Essentials certificate. Cyber Essentials is a government-backed cyber security certification scheme that sets out a good baseline of cyber security suitable for all organisations across all sectors. The scheme addresses five key controls that, when implemented correctly, can prevent around 80% of cyber-attacks.
The certification highlights ANS’ sound Cyber Security practices and ensures the company is protected against common online threats. Having undergone an external independent review of their practices and a rigorous test of their systems and networks, ANS has demonstrated that its technical security practices further underpin their supporting accreditations under ISO/IEC 27001:2013.
The certification will also enable ANS to bid for Government contracts which involve the handling of sensitive and personal information and provision of certain technical products and services.
Paul Shannon, COO at ANS, said, “The certification is a reinforcement of the security standards that run through the business. We deal with large Public and Private sector organisations and are responsible in many cases for their critical data; it is therefore vital that we are able demonstrate that we continue to take security extremely seriously to reassure our customers that they are in safe hands.”
