ANS give helping hand to Salford City Council
ANS has assisted one of their key public sector customers, Salford City Council in achieving their ISO27001 accreditation.
The ISO27001 accreditation offers a comprehensive set of controls, based on internationally recognised best practice in information security, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information is maintained at all times.
With the provision of guidance and expertise from the Business Assurance Manager at ANS, Salford City Council has been accredited with their own ISO27001 certification. The Council are now in a better position to give residents the confidence and trust that their information is safe and secure as well as enabling the council to demonstrate due diligence and compliance to regulatory and contractual requirements.
Paul Shannon, COO at ANS, explained,
“Information security should be a top priority for all organisations. Protecting personal records and commercially sensitive information is critical. The ISO27001 framework is now helping Salford City Council to manage and protect their information assets so that they remain safe and secure.”
Salford just needed some guidance on how to implement a practical and consistent way to manage their risks, a key element of ISO27001. Debbie McCarron and Joe Whiteley at Salford CC worked tirelessly to ensure Salford met all of the requirements of ISO27001.
Speaking of the accreditation, Debbie McCarron, Senior ICT Consultant at Salford City Council said:
“We take information security extremely seriously at Salford City Council. The ISO certification is a reinforcement of the culture and standards that run through the Council and in particular our attention to detail when it comes to maintaining excellent services for our local community.”
