Leading Cloud and Managed Service Provider ANS, have this week been accredited as a Disability Confident Employer. The Scheme, set up by the Department for Work and Pensions, is designed to help employers recruit and retain disabled people and people with health conditions for their skills and talent.
The accreditations recognise the proactive steps ANS is taking to encourage and support people with disabilities in applying for and working at the organisation.
As a Disability Confident Committed employer, ANS is providing inclusive and flexible recruitment processes such as offering video interviews and supporting flexible working patterns where possible. The organisation is also taking active steps to make adjustments in the workplace to support staff with disabilities.
ANS joins 5,000 employers who have signed up to the scheme, including leading brands such as BT, Marks and Spencer and Royal Mail.
Commenting on the certification, ANS’ CEO Paul Shannon said,
“According to the department for work and pensions, almost one fifth of the working age population is disabled and the vast majority of these people will develop their condition or impairment during their working life. By joining this scheme, we are working to ensure disabled people are given the opportunity to fulfil their potential and realise their aspirations. By making reasonable adjustments such as offering video interviews, providing disabled parking and lifts, employers can open their doors to an even wider pool of talent.”
