ANS wins £100,000 contract with West Midlands NHS Trust

Dudley IT Services, a division of The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, has signed a new £100,000 three-year contract with IT infrastructure and managed service specialist ANS to support its expansion plans.

Dudley IT Services’ infrastructure hosts applications and online services for the Trust’s staff and provides a wide range of IT services to external NHS organisations and private sector businesses through shared-services. The new contract with ANS will support the development of the organisation’s long-term data centre strategy, delivering new services for the trust and helping it meet demand from clients looking to use its data centre capacity.

ANS will deliver the infrastructure solution based on a FlexPod architecture – comprised of Cisco, NetApp and VMware technologies. The service will allow the trust to scale and grow in line with new shared-service agreements and provide a robust foundation for hosting new services for staff.

Paul Shannon, MD of Managed Services at ANS, said: “Dudley IT Services is taking a leading approach to the delivery of NHS IT services by harnessing its IT capabilities to generate revenue through agreements with businesses and other public sector bodies.

“The new contract will provide the organisation with flexibility to respond quickly to new business opportunities, lifting potential restrictions caused by the need to invest in its own equipment upfront.”

Nathan Allmont, Technical Architect at Dudley IT Services, said: “This contract will allow us to quickly meet the demands of our shared-services customers both new and existing, which will generate greater returns for the Trust. At the same time we’ll also be in a position to deliver better services to its staff and ultimately patients.”
