ANS Conquers Mount Snowdon at Night for RMCH
Saturday 16th October saw 24 of the ANS team push their physical and mental limits to the max by conquering Mount Snowdon in the dark. Trekking to heights of 3,300ft through the dead of night, the team hoped to raise £6,960 for the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital (RMCH).
RMCH Charity aims to support excellence in treatment, research and care provided to 280,000 children each year, ensuring they continue to receive world-leading treatment in the highest quality facilities. The donations raised by ANS will go towards the purchase of specialist equipment to diagnose and provide treatment to young patients more quickly and easily.
As one of the highest mountains in England and Wales, Snowdon promised a real challenge, especially at night. Batting 60mph winds, heavy rain and dropping temperatures, the team reached the summit in the early hours before a swift descent.
Leah Russell, Head of Strategic Alliances and CSR Lead at ANS commented, ‘We all knew going into the challenge that it would be tough, but I think it’s fair to say that a few of us didn’t bank on it being so difficult. Despite the treacherous climb, every single one of us were glad that we took part and I couldn’t be more proud of the team!’
Paul Shannon, ANS CEO, said ‘RMCH is a charity incredibly close to our hearts. I am immensely proud of the team at ANS for what they have achieved to support such a remarkable cause.
The team smashed their original target of £6,960, raising just over £15,000 (and counting!)
