Chorley Council delivers digital services
Managed services and hybrid cloud specialist ANS has secured a new contract with Chorley Council.
and increasing the number of online services offered to 100,000 local residents.
ANS will upgrade the authority’s servers, using a Cisco UCS architecture, and provide support for the day to day management of the Council’s IT infrastructure.
The service will increase Chorley’s data capacity and significantly improve its disaster recovery capability. The service also provides the council with a stable IT infrastructure that will enable it to expand IT capability and offer the potential to host shared services with other public sector bodies.
Asim Khan, Head of Customer & ICT Services at Chorley Council, said: “The council is putting convenience at the heart of how we offer services to citizens through its Digital Strategy, which means making more services available online and boosting efficiency. In order to achieve this it is vital that our back-office infrastructure is as robust and flexible as possible.”
“The new system will also provide additional capacity which means that the council will be in a position to achieve a shared infrastructure if appropriate.”
