County Durham & Darlington NHS Strengthen Network with ANS

One of the largest integrated care providers in England, County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust have selected existing partner ANS for a strategic network overhaul.

Cloud Services Provider ANS have been awarded a transformational five year Network Technology Refresh project to design and implement the Trust’s data network infrastructure, including LAN Core, Edge and WiFi, in its entirety. The solution will then be supported on an Enhanced Managed Service providing the Trust 24x7x365 network support.

The Trust has been working with ANS for the last two years and the organisations have developed a strong partnership. Andrew Watson Infrastructure and Operations Manager at County Durham & Darlington NHS described the latest project with ANS:

“From tender submission ANS have shown excellent understanding of the drivers behind the project. Throughout the competitive process the ANS demonstrated a clear understanding of our requirements with detailed knowledge of how these could be fulfilled.”

“ANS put significant effort into the process to ensure that we had full confidence in our decision. We are delighted to be continuing and building on our relationship with ANS and we are all looking forward to getting started on this project.”

In July 2015, the Trust also selected ANS as part of a half million pound project to update and expand the current Data Centre networking solution. The project aimed to provide a warranted environment structure for the Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) and create a supported hardware environment for the Trust’s clinicians.

Paul Sweeney CEO at ANS explains the key drivers behind the partnership:

“It was clear from the very beginning that CDDFT was looking to develop a long-term partnership with a preferred supplier.  We have worked closely with the Trust from the initial engagement with the technical design architects through to a successful project delivery with the senior CCIE consultants.  This relationship has enabled ANS to provide the optimum solution design for the PACS project ensuring high availability and resilience delivered to Cisco best practices.”

The contract is the most recent in a string of large wins in the healthcare sector for ANS. ANS have proven experience in delivering Cisco Medical Grade Network solution designs and deployments that help increase efficiency, productivity and deliver Business Value IT.
