Manchester IT Partnership Targets £10m New Business
Two Manchester-based technology firms – cloud provider National Cloud powered by ANS Group and broadband supplier Metronet (UK) – have formed a new partnership to target £10m of new business.
The new deal will see Metronet (UK) providing ANS Group with the mission critical connectivity required to support their National Cloud offering, delivering a single, integrated solution for connecting to their data.
The partnership is also expected to open up new business opportunities through joint tenders and referrals across the UK.
It follows research by ANS Group and National Cloud that revealed nine out of ten businesses (88%) think that moving to the cloud is “important” to their operational success. Despite this, the same research showed that just 14% of IT directors think their provider’s service agreement meets their business needs.
Paul Sweeney – Managing Director of National Cloud and ANS Group, said: “We spoke to IT directors across the UK and found that, while the vast majority planned to move their data to the cloud within three years, 46% were concerned about downtime during the transfer and 54% were worried about having a secure connection to their data”.
“Metronet (UK) is a leading provider of secure, fast connections. By partnering with them we can respond to IT directors’ fears – offering an integrated, fast and secure cloud solution.”
Elliott Mueller, CEO of Metronet (UK), said: “We are very happy to expand our network of partners to include ANS Group and their National Cloud solutions. They are an exciting company that shares similar values with Metronet (UK) such as delivering services that are scalable, flexible, and which provide a solid platform on which to grow businesses.
“We are really excited about this partnership – together, we can bring down the costs and ease the transition to the cloud for many businesses. This new alliance is a great example of the innovative spirit of Digital Manchester.”
