ANS and Aventum Group Partner for Agentic AI Innovation
Watch the video: Aventum Group

Background
Aventum Group is a global speciality insurance group, with the ambition to evolve from a more traditional insurance organisation into a fully-fledged Insurtech. With a passion for cutting-edge technology and a clear focus on delivering meaningful impact to clients, Aventum Group is developing its own tech platform focused on automation, aiming to create the most integrated suite of insurance software tools in the market.

Challenge
Aventum Group is at the forefront when it comes to trialling emerging technologies with their Innovation Lab. This Lab consists of a small team of technologists running experiments with emerging and cutting-edge technologies, looking to generate learnings about how new technology can help solve Aventum Group’s business goals.
Wanting to empower their underwriters and ensure their case handlers were equipped with the best tools, Aventum Group’s Innovation Lab was interested in exploring how Agentic AI could add efficiency to their internal operations.
In discussions about this, Microsoft gave Aventum Group opportunity to test out its latest Agentic AI products to observe tool functionality. Microsoft recommended ANS as a strategic partner for collaborative workshops, expert insight, and rapid experimentation.

Solution
Aventum Group partnered with ANS in a one-week innovation sprint to unlock new possibilities with Microsoft’s Agentic AI tools. The initiative began with a discovery and ideation phase to gather experimentation ideas, tailored to Aventum Group’s business needs and operations.
During this, Aventum Group identified key scenarios to push the limits of Microsoft’s AI tooling features – these use cases included onboarding new joiners and completing Terms of Business Agreement (TOBA) compliance checks for new trading partners.
ANS then lead the Innovation Lab in a hands-on, hackathon-style process. The group was split into two teams, and each team tasked with creating a Proof-of-Concept using agentic AI tools to automate the identified processes.
One team focused on the new joiners onboarding process. Copilot Studio and low-code tools were utilised to create a tailored AI agent that automates IT onboarding tasks, including setting up IDs, granting system access, and streamlining training processes.
The other team focused on the TOBA process, leveraging Azure AI Foundry to build a team of AI agents designed to support compliance checks for new and potential trading partners, including credit assessments and documentation workflows.

Outcome
The partnership with ANS gave Aventum Group a fresh perspective through insightful research and Microsoft expertise they wouldn’t have reached alone. With pre-preview access to these Agentic tools, Aventum Group were among the first to trial the innovative technologies, contributing to the excitement of the hackathon-style sprint.
The results were tangible: new tools, deeper understanding, and a roadmap to productionise the most promising experiments. The Innovation Lab has now handed off the POCs created during the innovation sprint to its internal IT teams to productionise, with the aim to expand and implement these solutions across the organisation, automating manual processes to improve efficiency and make work better for their teams.
The collaboration with ANS has laid the foundation for ongoing innovation, with Head of Innovation at Aventum Group, James Fairgreave sharing “it was a fantastic experience for us to go through that and come up with some tangible benefits and learnings that we can apply in many different use cases.”
“We’ll definitely be working together in the future. With ANS, we can broaden what’s possible with automation.” – James Fairgreave, Head of Innovation, Aventum Group
