Meet the LogicMonitor MVPs: Ryan Buxton, Monitoring Engineer

ANS is home to three of the world’s 40 LogicMonitor MVPs. In our Meet the MVPs series, we’re sitting  down with them to explore what that recognition means and how IT operations are changing.

We spoke to Ryan Buxton, Monitoring Engineer at ANS, about what it means to be a MVP, how AI and observability are changing IT operations, and the LogicMonitor capabilities customers should be using.

What does being a LogicMonitor MVP mean to you?

Being a LogicMonitor MVP means being a member of a technical community of observability engineering leaders from around the world. This allows us to collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the field, working together to contribute to the LogicMonitor roadmap and push the boundaries of what is possible with observability tooling.

How is AI changing IT operations?

AI is enabling smarter decision-making, allowing operations teams to resolve issues much faster and reduce alert noise by correlating alert data to identify root causes. This enables a deeper focus on what matters most, delivers greater impact, and provides more robust and effective resolutions.

What’s the most valuable insight customers gain once observability is properly implemented?

When properly implemented, observability provides customers with deep insights into why a problem has occurred, what has been impacted along the way, and the bigger picture surrounding an incident. This differs from traditional or legacy monitoring tools, which are often limited to identifying that a problem has occurred with a specific component/device.

This allows technical teams to more easily distinguish between symptomatic behaviour and the underlying root cause of an issue, reducing both the time and effort required to resolve problems.

What should organisations realistically expect from AIOps in the next 12-24 months?

AIOps platforms will continue to deliver higher first-time fix rates, faster response times, and deeper insights into increasingly complex issues. We are also likely to see the wider adoption of AI-assisted problem resolution, helping technical teams respond more effectively and efficiently to incidents.

What’s one feature every LogicMonitor customer should be taking advantage of?

The detailed insights provided by Edwin AI, combined with diagnostic and remediation actions.

What’s the main benefit to customers of being a LogicMonitor MVP?

As MVPs, we gain direct access to senior teams within LogicMonitor, allowing us to help shape future development, test upcoming features, and provide feedback on platform functionality before it becomes generally available.

This places us in a strong position to deliver maximum value to our customers. By sharing real-world customer requirements with LogicMonitor throughout the development process, we can help ensure that new features address genuine challenges and deliver meaningful benefits from day one.
