Meet the LogicMonitor MVPs: Sam Matthews, Service Architect

ANS is home to three of the world’s 40 LogicMonitor MVPs. In our Meet the MVPs series, we’re sitting sit down with them to explore what that recognition means and how IT operations are changing.

We spoke to Sam Matthews, Service Architect at ANS, about how AI is changing IT operations, the value of observability, and what organisations can realistically expect from AIOps.

What does being a LogicMonitor MVP mean to you?

It’s an opportunity to help shape where observability goes next. We can contribute to LogicMonitor’s roadmap and get early access to features before they’re released. That helps us keep up with what’s coming and have a say in how the platform develops.

How is AI changing IT operations?

AI is helping IT teams make sense of more data, more quickly. It can cut through the complexity, highlight what needs attention and help teams resolve issues faster. It’s also making insights easier to access, so people can get the information they need without having to know all the ins and outs of the tools behind it.

What’s the most valuable insight customers gain once observability is properly implemented?

The biggest benefit is context. You can see what’s happening, why it’s happening and what’s affected, which makes it much easier to decide what to tackle first. That helps teams spend less time sifting through alerts, get to the root cause faster and focus on the issues that matter most to the business.

What should organisations realistically expect from AIOps in the next 12-24 months?

I’d expect faster investigations, fewer distracting alerts and easier access to the operational knowledge teams need day to day. We should also see AI playing a bigger role in helping teams resolve issues. Those are the practical improvements I’d look for over the next 12 to 24 months.

What’s one feature every LogicMonitor customer should be taking advantage of?

For me, it’s definitely diagnostic and remediation actions. They’re the features I’d encourage every LogicMonitor customer to explore.

What’s the main benefit to customers of being a LogicMonitor MVP?

It gives us a closer connection to LogicMonitor’s product experts and a clearer view of what’s coming next. We can bring that knowledge back to our customers and help them make better use of the platform. For me, that’s where the value of being an MVP really comes through.
