ANS is home to three of the world’s 40 LogicMonitor MVPs. In our Meet the MVPs series, we’re sitting sit down with them to explore what that recognition means and how IT operations are changing.
We spoke to Stephen Crutchley, Platforms Engineer at ANS, about what LogicMonitor MVP status means in practice, how AI and observability can improve incident response, and where AIOps is heading over the next couple of years.
What does being a LogicMonitor MVP mean to you?
Bring in a position to help shape the roadmap through feedback and collaborating with other individuals who share a common focus on observability and monitoring.
How is AI changing IT operations?
I believe AI is a useful tool that can enhance IT operations’ ability to react and quickly resolve issues through processing of available data into more digestible actions, whilst also allowing IT teams to be proactive using the saved time and AI generated recommendations.
What’s the most valuable insight customers gain once observability is properly implemented?
Observability should aim to highlight the journey of an Event; what went wrong, how it went wrong, and what was impacted. The insights gained from a correctly implemented Observability tool should help to allow the Customer to understand the story of the Event to assist with prioritising mitigation steps which teams should employ.
What should organisations realistically expect from AIOps in the next 12-24 months?
Faster, more accurate responses and further integration with tooling.
What’s one feature every LogicMonitor customer should be taking advantage of?
Diagnostics & Remediation Actions is one feature Customers should take full advantage of, as it can help speed up resolution times by providing more insight into the issue through curated Diagnostic Script, or even automatically resolve the issue through a defined Remediation Script.
What’s the main benefit to customers of being a LogicMonitor MVP?
Greater access to LogicMonitor Product experts and upcoming features, which benefits customer through having a direct line to provide feedback or feature requests which Customer’s may have.
