Resilient cloud for law firm.
The Doughty Street Chambers website usually receives around 200 visitors a day. When a news story broke that brought readers to the Doughty Street site, it had over 180 visitors each second for over 12 hours. The site came close to crashing.
To ensure the site remained online and didn’t crash, ANS increased the RAM on Doughty Street Chambers’ website, installed web acceleration technology and optimised its database. Visitors continued to visit the website, but it never faltered.
ANS helped ensure Doughty Street Chambers’ website stayed online. Now they know they have a solution that’ll stay online whatever happens.

Resilient web hosting
Doughty Street Chambers was founded in 1990 and is committed to defending freedom and civil liberties. It has a national and international profile across its wide range of practice in criminal law, civil law, human rights and more.
In April 2014, a celebrity announcement was made that caused millions to head to the internet in search of more information, and it was a rarely accessed chambers website that proved to be the fountain of all knowledge. Suddenly, the site faced a deluge of traffic it had never prepared for.
To ensure the site remained online and didn’t crash, ANS increased the RAM on Doughty Street Chambers’ website, installed web acceleration technology and optimised its database to keep the website running as normal.
“Our last hosting provider didn’t deliver great customer support at all; whereas everything ANS do is great,” said The Doughty Street.
“It may seem like a very simple thing for your website to not be available, but our website is the main face of our chambers. If someone can’t get onto our site to learn about our barristers, they will turn to a different chambers; it’s as simple as that, for us and any other website.”
In this day and age you just expect technology to work, and you get frustrated when it doesn’t. Luckily, we’ve got ANS on hand to make sure we’re always online. I don’t know what we would’ve done without it.
