Unlocking Efficiency: How to Tackle Paper Process Pains within NHS Trusts with Low-Code

  • Thursday 25th April
  • 12pm-1pm
  • Webinar

Most NHS Trusts have to rely on many paper processes, which are inefficient, time-consuming and prone to error. Plus, these paper processes take away value care-time from patients. Microsoft’s Power Platform can be utilised to turn these critical processes into digital solutions, as well as form a basis for data analysis to take you to the next level of efficiency.

Microsoft’s Power Platform allows you to create applications, data flows and website portals, all using low code technology which can integrate with your existing EPR and other systems.  They digitalise tasks and automate processes currently on paper or Excel, and reduce the need to rely on developers to create applications or customise existing applications which may not be fit for purpose.

Understanding Challenges:

  • NHS Trusts have many current paper process pains, we will discuss these as a group and explore where the Microsoft’s Power Platform solutions can provide a digital solution.

Understanding Where to Start

  • Discover the value of adopting ‘Navigator’ programmes, supported by ANS and Microsoft as a first step on your digital journey, or to understand your current Power Platform/Low Code environment.

Claire will share how the Trust’s Innovation Team has digitalised the paper NEWS process for recording Physical Health Observations, and the benefits seen, alongside creating a roadmap of solutions with clinicians.

Aimee Wilde

Healthcare Lead at Microsoft

As part of the Health team at Microsoft UK, my role is focused on helping NHS organisations to understand how technology can be used to save costs, improve wellbeing for staff and support doctors/nurses to deliver high-quality care.

To achieve this, I work closely with people throughout the health service to understand the most pressing challenges that exist in acute, mental health and community settings. Our team then works collaboratively with clinicians, patients and other partners to develop digital products that the health service genuinely needs.

I believe (like many others) that the creation and sustainment of the NHS is one of society's greatest accomplishments. At a time when demand for healthcare services in the UK are surging, and resources (such as the clinical workforce and funding) are decreasing, I feel extremely passionate and motivated to support the health service to 'do more with less'.
